Upholding a Tucson Tradition
When longtime restauranteur Glenn Murphy and his wife Sally heard Jonathan Landeen was ready to hang up his cleaver, they leapt at the opportunity to welcome friends, family, local residents and visitors to one of the most inviting restaurant spaces in Tucson.
As a native of Perth, Australia, Glenn Murphy first stepped into a commercial kitchen at the age of 15, exceling in the Hilton Hotel culinary program. During his career, he’s owned and/or operated 40+ restaurants and bars on three continents: Australia, the US and Thailand. Sally (Shamrell) Murphy is a native Arizonan who worked as both a TV journalist in Tucson and an actor in Los Angeles. The two met in the building just north of The Cork Tucson 20+ years ago, when Glenn operated a live music venue called "Backstage". They both feel it's fate, and embrace the responsibility of upholding tradition while operating one of the last strongholds of Tucson's famed "Restaurant Row".

General Manager
Jeff Hughes
Mr. Hughes is a longtime member of The Cork crew. Twenty-seven years ago he was hired when the restaurant was Jonathan's Cork. Jeff's hospitality expertise has been honed while serving as Bar Manager to hundreds of regular guests, as well as desert visitors. He's delightuflly engaging, whether greeting guests, running the dining room floor, or accommodating special requests.
Executive Chef
Matt Kraiss
Mr. Kraiss is our corporate Executive Chef for both The Cork Tucson and its sibling venue, UnCork'd Kitchen & Cocktails. He's a longtime Tucsonan, who's worked at some of the Old Pueblo's iconic eating establishments including Ermano's, Lindy's on 4th and the legendary Mountain Oyster Club. An artist at heart, you'll always find flair and finesse in the taste and presentation of the dishes he creates in both of our restaurants
